Overview
In this self-paced on-demand training, students will become familiar with the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The Family & Medical Leave Act requires that certain employers provide eligible employees with periods of unpaid leave for a variety of situations.
Students will:
- Learn how to determine which employees are eligible to take leave under the FMLA
- Gain an understanding of the reasons why employees may take leave under the FMLA
- Understand the total amount of FMLA leave available, how leave is calculated, and how leave may be taken
- Learn about the notice obligations imposed by the FMLA
- Learn how and when to request certifications
- Understand the protections during and after leave is taken
