Lt. James J. Raso has over 30 years of law enforcement experience.  In addition to his law enforcement experience he has also been licensed to practice law in Massachusetts for the past 24 years.  He has been teaching a variety of topics to law enforcement agencies for the past twelve years.  He has been a MPI instructor since 2018.

Lt. Raso brings with him extensive knowledge in the area of drugged driving.  He has been a Drug Recognition Expert since 2005 and a Drug Recognition Expert Instructor since 2009.   He has also been teaching in the areas of Standard Field Sobriety tests and Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving for that same period of time.  During this time, he has instructed over one thousand police officers throughout Massachusetts.

Most recently Lt. Raso was selected as the Assistant Drug Recognition Coordinator for the Municipal Police Training Committee.   In this capacity he helps coordinate the grant funded High Safety Division Drug Recognition training and certifications.

Lt. Raso also has experience teaching in the areas of Fair and Impartial Policing and Procedure, Criminal Law and Legal Updates.
