Overview

This intensive certification program will explore some of the basic, but vital, areas of the Public Records Law in Massachusetts that public safety personnel must be familiar with.  Students will:

  • Cover the basics of the Public Records Law
  • Learn how to operate successfully as a records access officer
  • Understand the procedural aspects of the Public Records Law
  • Be able to articulate when and how the exemptions apply
  • Learn how to craft responses to records requests, and petitions filed before the Supervisor of Public Records
